SUCCESS STORIES
Trails are built by a combination of federal, state, local and private funding. Most funding
sources require
local
match.
Every $1 BikeNet invests brings in roughly $7.50 to build trails.
Ales for Trails is BikeNet's Annual Fundraiser.

Ales for Trails 2010
More than 2300 people attended in the roomy accommodation of Dehler Park. Bleachers provided plenty of seating (with scenic views of home plate and a trails video) and the picnic pavilion provided grass and tables to congregate. The dance floor was big too; but the record crowd filled it up.
Sponsors and ticket sales generated more than $50,000 of income to build multi-use trails right here in Billings. These dollars will be matched by federal funding and grants expanding the impact x 7 or more. A BIG THANK YOU to our sponsors!
BikeNet committed $33,000 from their profits to building the Main Street Underpass. That will generate $252,000 of federal funding to complete the project. Future projects, like a bridge over the railroad tracks near South 25th, are up next.
An incredible selection of microbrews and wine topped the entertainment list with good food, music, a fat tire bike raffle, visits to the BikeNet booth for trail updates and the ever popular Pedal Awards not far behind. For the second straight year, attendees voted Angry Hank’s Anger Management first place for the Golden Pedal. Second place was Woodchuck Amber Draft Cider by Woodchuck Cidery, and Angry Hank’s also took the Bronze Pedal, for its Street Fight Red Ale.
Thank you volunteers and committee members who put in hours of work to make Ales 2010 a success!
